20 May 2013 – The Filipino community of Rochester in Upstate New York led by its President Ms. Amy Rivera, hosted the Consulate General in holding a consular outreach for the benefit of Filipinos living in Rochester, Albany, and Buffalo, New York last May 18. A total of 30 passport, 7 dual citizenship and 14 Reports of Marriage/ Birth and Notarial applications were processed by the Consulate General in the Rochester Public Library Hall where the outreach was held. 16 May 2013 – Consul General Mario De Leon and his spouse hosted dinner for Judge Lorna Schofield at the Official Residence last May 15 in recognition of her appointment as Article III Federal Judge in the Southern District Court of New York. She holds the distinction of being the first Filipino American to be appointed to this position.

10 May 2013, New York – New York's famed Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts presented a special performance of the "Brooklyn-Manila Project" on 09 May at the David Rubenstein Atrium as part of the Target Public Arts Series.
