22 April 2013 – The Consulate General conducted a consular and passport outreach for Filipino community in Needham, Massachussetts last April 20. Needham is a few miles away from Watertown, Massachussetts where the Boston bombing suspects were apprehended by police authorities last April 19.

23 April 2013 – Consul General Mario De Leon and Commissioner Fatima Shama of the NYC Office of Immigrant Affairs participated in a cultural presentation entitled "Undocumented New York" featuring a short film on Jose Antonio Vargas, a Filipino-American who came out as undocumented over a year ago, during the 10th Annual NYC Immigrant Heritage Week last April 22 at the Angel Orensanz Foundation in the Lower East Side.

19 April 2013 - The Philippine Consulate hosted an Immigration Forum on April 18 at the Kalayaan Hall Annex, Philippine Center to join in the celebration of Immigrant Heritage Week in New York City.

18 April 2013, New York – Staffmembers of the Philippine Consulate General and the Philippine Center in New York launched their first-ever exhibit entitled "Pagsibol" at the Lobby-Gallery of the Philippine Center on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.
