CFO Action Line Against Human Trafficking

Dear Kababayans and Friends,

 Starting January 15, 2013, requests for assistance, inquiries and referrals involving suspected human trafficking activities may be submitted by SMS (short message service) or text message at 1343 Action Line in cooperation with the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) and Globe/ Touch Mobile.

 In sending anti-human trafficking concerns, Globe and Touch Mobile subscribers need to send texts using the following format: <message> then send to 1343.  All text messages will be charged P1.00 per 160 characters. 

 For further information on how to access the service, subscribers can text <1343(space)HELP> or <HELP(space)1343> then send to 1343.  This feature is free of charge.

Human trafficking is punishable by Philippine and US laws and involves recruitment, harboring, receiving of a person using duress, force or coercion for exploitation as well as involuntary servitude, prostitution, pornography and marriage involving the mail order bride system.

(Ang human trafficking ay isang krimen sa Pilipinas (Republic Act 9208) at Estados Unidos.  Saklaw nito ang pag recruit, pagkupkop, o pagtanggap ng isang tao sa pamamagitan ng dahas, pamimilit o coercion upang siya ay pagsamantalahan (exploitation).  Napapaloob rito ang mga aktong sapilitang pagtrabaho, prostitusyon, pornograpiya, pang-aalipin, at pagpapakasal sa pamamagitan ng mail-order bride system)
